Institute for Adaptive and Neural Computation (ANC) AI Hubs
The Institute for Adaptive and Neural Computation (ANC) fosters the study of adaptive processes in both artificial and biological systems. ANC was formed in 1998 when the School of Informatics was created out of five previous departments and centres. The Institute encourages interdisciplinary and collaborative work bringing together the traditional disciplines of neuroscience, cognitive science, computer science, mathematics and statistics. Combined study of the adaptive nature of artificial and biological systems facilitates the many benefits accruing from treating essentially the same problem from different perspectives.
